Java and Ink sketch

Java and Ink

The above is a wash of java on white handmade paper with a black ink sketch.  3" x 5"

Phyllie Orzalli gave me the idea of using coffee as a medium.  We had an artist's round table discussion on Saturday at Lolet in Sacramento.  More to follow

The latter part of 2006 I bought some vases and applied acrylic paint.  Below is an example of one that is about 5" tall and about 4" wide at the base.  The tea light sits atop a candle dish.

The first day of 07, I painted.  Thoughout the day I reflected on the past year and thought about the upcoming year.

    The day unfolded.

Janet Paluch, an artist here in Sac,  invited me to her open house at her home/studio.  What an amazing experience!  She has an entire room/studio devoted to her paper artwork.  In the studio stands an old library catalog furniture case, which houses her collection of stamps  - talk about organized!  She makes books that are portable and complete works of art.

During the afternoon at Janet's home, I met Bill who has authored a novel and will soon publish the book.  He generously offered to make a copy for me - hand made by an American Artist!

Janet and I have been friends for nearly 20 years.  One New Year resolve we made was to have a meet up at least once a month - we're calling it a Vino and Visit!!

    Happy New Year to all!!!
