THREE MESSIAHS WALK INTO A BAR, directed by Maggie Adair Upton, is a
rollicking musical by Matt Hanf, a wacky take on the story of the courtship
of Joseph and Mary.  It tells the familiar tale from its most comic side
with delightful story and song.  Playwright Matt Hanf has written this
original work, which was given its first reading in the Playwright's and
Screenwriter'sWorkshop.  The Workshop meets every Monday evening at the
Thistle Dew Theatre.   Thomas Kelly, the owner of The Thistle Dew, is
dedicated to supporting original works by local playwrights and
screenwriters, and offers the opportunity for new works to be performed on
his stage.   His series of staged readings of new plays will be held in
January and June.
Maggie Adair Upton directed his play "The Butterfly Within", which received
a full production in the spring of 2006.

OPENING MAY 18:  "KEELY AND DU".  Presented by KOLT Run Creations.
Continues May 19, 25. 26. June 1 and closes June 2.
All tickets are $24.00, includes dessert, coffee and tea.

About "Keely and Du":
In a sparse basement turned prison, two women forge an unlikely bond.
Three months pregnant, Keely is kidnapped from an abortion clinic and
handcuffed to a hospital bed.  Du is both her caretaker and her prison
guard, driven by faith to ensure Keely's pregnancy comes to term.
Beyond the political, religious, and ideological dimensions of this issue,
Keely & Du illustrates the humanity that underscores our convictions
and the prices we pay for them.

Keely & Du is the inaugural production of KOLT Run Creations, which is
devoted to bringing edgy and intelligent theatrical experiences to
Sacramento audiences.
Look for another first run, world premiere of other products of The Thistle Dew Playwright's Workshop; a mystery drama (Donya Wicken's "Ghost Writer") and another original musical comedy (Leo McElroy's "Mermaid Tavern").

Thank you,
Tom, Ellie and the creative members of The Thistle Dew Playwright's Workshop.
