Victorian Tea in Napa
Artist Janice Swanson steeped tradition with beauty and grace by hosting authentic Victorian Teas in her beautifully restored Victorian Home in Napa, for fellow artists, long-time friends and neighbors. I was blessed to attend more than one exquisite event at Janice's home.
To digress slightly, I think I first met Janice at a Network for Wearable Art meeting in Napa. During one of the meetings, a few of us found out she was selling hats, leftover from her Antique business. It didn't take long for us to head out after the meeting, and go to her beautiful home to buy hats!!!
Some time after that, Janice and I were members of Women Artists of Napa, a group who put on art exhibits, and in general supported each other in our work. Often, she and I looked for treasures at Community Projects and would be there at the same time, shopping for items to recycle and use in our art. I met up with her there just a couple weeks ago.
Back to the Victorian Tea, Janice creates art in her home, in her food and her hospitality makes everyone feel important. Most of us dressed up. I think these pictures will impart the fun we had together.

Yum! Janice prepared all the food for us.

This hat is one I purchased on the day Janice sold hats. The garment I'm wearing is vintage, which I bought from a shop on Second Street. I'll add the address later.
