Wearable art? No, those are leg warmers! Viktorya's Fashion Faux Pas...
Fashion faux pas? I have many, just ask my family. No don't! Just kidding.
Primarily, I have loved leg warmers since I bought my first knitted, purple and pink striped pair, sometime in the 80's. I subsequently acquired a number of pairs, and then went on in the 1990's to make double knit leg warmers to match my leggings. (Yes, leggings are another clung fashion no-no.) Ha! but, now they are back in style. I think I've had way too much java this morning.
These leg warmers are quite pretty.

Now for what I still wear.

I have no idea why one black double knit leg warmer stretched out more than the other; if you know me, my legs are relatively the same size. Oh, and the recycled wool sock tops are what I wear as wrist warmers.

These are practical. When I work in my studio, it's cold; even in Napa or Sacramento CA, temps can drop to the 30's F. during winter.
Logical progression is, regression to boot covers? Yes! I've recently discovered runway models wearing boot covers.

For any of you members of the Network for Wearable Art, do you remember Virginia's western wear boot covers? They were really cool and if anyone has a picture of her wearing them, please email to me and I'll post on this entry.
Keep warm! This weekend I'll be wearing those grungy black leg warmers and wrist warmers while in the studio.
