UFO No More
In Quilter's lingo, a UFO is an Un-Finished Object (project). No More are the Autumn Splendor leaf blocks lying in a cupboard - they now are sewn into a top.
I'm just going to show a series of images following the process of stumbling along and discovering the organically-inspired solution.
1. Sashing of red/orange color - an RJR - Jinny Beyer fabric.

2. Borders
I tried out and rejected borders of various colors from ochre toyellow to orange to the red/orange sashing. Nothing worked. Then I came across these strips which were rejects from another quilt and gave them a try.

Color combo was perfect, BUT look at the corner - yikes!
3. Corners

Opal Apple saved the day! I found a solid fabric that worked great, and in a painter's description the color is cadmium medium yellow with a dab of red undertone. That is complimented with the same sashing fabric only cut down to fit the scale of the yellow corner, and voila!

There is something further I may add to the quilt corners: a Fleur de Lis stamp using copper paint.

Or I may cut a maple leaf stencil and stencil that with copper paint. All I know is when I look at this quilt hanging on the wall, I feel happy. UFO No More thanks to Opal Apple. Have a great Monday!
