Art Deco Bog Coat

You may know how much I love Art Deco design and the clothing designs from the early teens up to the thirties of the Twentieth Century.  Today you will see the Art Deco inspired Bog Coat, which in my way of thinking could have been worn during a soiree, maybe even by some in the Bloomsbury Group.  This style is me!

3.  Detail of Frog Closure with Tassels and hand-quilt stitching around the edge

4.  Detail Neckline and Head Piece — the headpiece is made up of my hand-dyed silk scarf and twisted fabrics for definition.

5.  Lining - This piece is completely reversible - the lining is a marvelous rayon, and when I wear this Art Deco Bog Coat, I feel like I'm literally floating on a cloud.  The weight of the fabric is delicious.

The Fashion Fabric is decorator weight and has the look and feel of chintz.  I wear a black tunic top and black leggings with this piece and it is versatile, so much so, that it could be worn as an evening piece or lounge wear.

The painting sitting behind the Art Deco Bog Coat is an oil, which has elements that were painted from my rose garden at my former home in Napa by the River.  Besides loving Art Deco, I'm a huge fan of Bonnard.

For those of you who have taken my Bog Coat workshops and seen my Fashion Shows, you will remember the many renditions of this versatile design.  You may even have the booklet / pattern called A Bevy of Bogs.

We made it to Friday, and all I can say is woohoo!!!  I am so ready for the weekend.

Much love to you all,

- Viktorya
