Painting from Influences
Paintings in this article are two among many pieces that I have done, most of which have been sold.
dolce far niete is an acrylic painting on canvas, mounted to board with plaster around the painting to give it an embedded look. Elements in this piece are in the next painting as well, combined from influences: the stair-step on which the fruit reside (art deco influence); patchwork design in upper left corner and down the right side (quilting influence); grapes (Napa living influence). You can see wrinkles in the canvas, a result of going for an Old World look, as if the piece had been rolled and stacked in among others, aged and gathering dust until being re-discovered. The painted plaster perimeter holds dark umber in the crevices with the aged feel. The name, loosely translated, means sweet doing nothing.

canvas - 29 3/8" x 22 1/8"
board - 35" x 27 1/2"
c. viktorya 1998-2010

To follow is a detail that shows how the plaster (in places) embeds the canvas edge. You can see the color better in this image.

dolce is primarily the same layout, but this has the light, airy colorway. (The dark band around the painting is background and not part of the painting.)

36" x 24"

I have sold many floorcloths with this layout and theme as home dec enhancements, and there will be more about floorcloths in another article.
Hope you have a super Tuesday!
